We figured it’s been a long, long winter and it’s about time we start getting our engines reeving for open water for the 2014 season. This year is shaping up to be a very busy opener in the Brainerd Lakes Area with the MN Governor’s Opener. The three of us (Tim, Butch, and Nate) will be taking kids out pan-fishing the two days prior to opener and then taking guests out on opening day as part of the Governor’s opener. Grandview Lodge is hosting the event this year and is sure to be a huge success. There will be many events prior to opener and also for the remainder of the weekend at Grandview. I think everyone is hoping for ice out prior to opener unlike last year. It seems that we are ahead of where we were last year and there should be open water in the Brainerd area by May 10th but it doesn’t hurt to keep your fingers crossed. It has been good to hear from many of our repeat clients who have already been rebooking trips for this upcoming year. It really makes us look forward to fishing with some of our favorite people again for open water. Now that spring is in the air, we will begin posting Brainerd Area fishing reports again on a regular basis. Give us a call (218)-829-7010 if you would like to book a trip or just say hi.
