8/2/13 Brainerd Lake Area Fishing Report

Posted by on August 3, 2013

Finally….Finally….Finally we seem to be back to normal in terms of  the fishing activity for the year. The walleyes are really snapping on Gull, Whitefish, and North Long. Fish are still holding pretty tight to the weed lines. Key depths have been 11-19 feet. Find some wind blown weedlines and give it a try. The best part of the action as of late is that you never know what you are going to catch, a walleye, bass, or a pike. We have been mainly fishing Lindy Rigs and minnows but have trolled crawlers with slow death hooks, and pitched weed weazels with good sucsess. They walleyes on Mille Lacs have really slowed up but you can still catch some, just have to work for them. Smallies have been real day to day over there as well. We have lots of new pictures of big catches that will be posted in the picture section. If you want to enjoy some really fun fishing give a call and book at trip. Enjoy this beautiful weather.
