8/6/12 Brainerd Lakes Area Fishing Report

Posted by on August 7, 2012

Finally the weather has cooled down some. Walleye fishing has been very good since our last report up on the Whitefish Chain. We have been catching a lot of fish up in the 13-18 foot depth. Minnows on a Lindy Rig have worked the best but also catching some on leeches and crawlers, very good Bass and Northern fishing going on up there also. North Long has also come alive some for Walleyes, mainly the main lake structure 18-21 feet, Lindy Rigging. The Bass and Northern action has remained good on Gull and some of the other area lakes either dragging a small minnow on a Lindy Rig next to the weed line or better yet pitching Weed Weasels tipped with a small minnow up into the weeds. Butch fished with Dwight and Peggy Friday from St. James had a great time, caught lots of fish and wanted to take the time to thank Dwight for his service to our Country. Dwight just returned home from serving in Kuwait and had previously served a tour in Iraq. We would ask that whenever you see or meet our military personnel, take the time to thank them for their services. God Bless Them! Give us a call at the Bait Shop if you would like to book a trip, the number is 218-829-7010.
